What if I'm using vanilla Solaris 10? How would I identify if I'm in a guest
domain?

If by "vanilla Solaris 10", you mean a version of Solaris 10 prior to
S10U9, then I believe checking that `uname -m` == "sun4v" and
that
/virtual-devi...@100/channel-devi...@200/virtual-chan...@0:hvctl
does not exist should be sufficient to identify a guest.

Unfortunately, if the hvctl device does exist on a sun4v system,
it doesn't necessarily mean that it is a control domain, i.e. domaining
may not be enabled. It's non-trivial to reliably figure out if
domaining is enabled.
