It's supported. But I still find that MPXIO in general is better than EMC
PowerPath or HDS HDLM because of the simplicity of the support and management
of
SAN LUNs. MPXIO works find on EMC, HDS, 3Par, Netapp, etc storage. At worst,
you
might have to edit the /kernel/drv/scsi_vhci.conf to tune settings. A good read
up on MPXIO is here:

http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Project+mpxio/

I like the fact that with the built-in Leadville HBA drivers in Solaris 10 and
above and MPXIO, it's one less thing to worry about when attaching storage. All
I do is run stmsboot -e and reboot. Then all I have to do to configure and
unconfigure storage is to use cfgadm. I can get all my HBA details with fcinfo.
If you use the Sun Oracle branded Emulex or Qlogic HBAs, the firmware is taken
care of by the drivers. So in the end, I don't need any of the tools or drivers
from Emulex, Qlogic, EMC, HDS, etc.. to use SAN storage. Everything I need is
already in the OS and it just makes my life easier.

Subject: [ldoms-discuss] EMC Powerpath

Hi,

I searched to see if EMC PowerPath works under LDOMS but could only see
responses that it was not supported back in 2008, so does anyone know if it
supported now or is MPXIO still the only option?

Cheers

Sean
