Using internal SAS drives for LDOM boot means you need AVS to replicate the volume to another host. If you SAN boot from a LUN mapped/zoned to all nodes of cluster you can warm migrate LDOM. Otherwise you have to replicate the bits at migration time....

We have an extra 4 port NIC in slot 2 and HBA cards in slots 3 & 4. The control domain (also an I/O dom) boots off the internal drives. The second I/O domain and guests boot from SAN LUN's. Had we planned it a little better up-front we would have added a SAS card to pci@500 so we could connect an extra pair or internal drives to boot the second I/O domain.
