I seem to recall someone one this list talking about putting together a photo directory for their ward. I've just been tasked with doing this, but I would rather not start from scratch...
I have been kicking around the idea of using LaTeX, or if that doesn't work out, then building it in Scribus. I could also do it in HTML, but that doesn't always translate into a good printable format.
