Several Reasons: 1. Updated Information: Since the website has to be updated seperate of the MLS, typically it's out of date. Even the Ward Directory, which pulls from the church records, does not maintain "Prefered Names" changed on the MLS (ie. every time a new member moves in, their FULL NAME shows up on the website until you modify it on the website). This could potentially work on a ward level when one or 2 people are maintained the lists and reports, but when you are trying to coordinate 10 units, several of which aren't still beginners in using the software, this wouldn't work for us.
2. Report Size: The ward directory is 3 or more the size than the reports we're able to generate. Compact reports make it easier to find information on a pdf (especially when you use it on a PDA device) and it saves money in ink/paper with printing. 3. Leadership Directory: Out leadership directory has additional information like spouse, email, and phone number.
