This myth really needs to die already. The BSA never threatened to change who they allowed to be leaders. Maybe the ACLU threatened to force them, but the BSA never wanted it, and won the court case. The Church plays a huge part in the BSA. Besides being a large sponsor of BSA troops/packs/crews/teams, many of the professional scouters and scouting executives are members of The Church. It is incredibly unlikely that the BSA could make a decision that would alienate us.
