While we're in the spirit of making feature requests, I would personally like to see more flexibility in uploading photos and documents pertinent to our ward. We've really encourage ward members to sign up over the last year and have over 100 registered users. We use it for the standard stuff: ward dir, calendar, news, building scheduling, etc. We also upload our monthly bishopric message to the front page. It has reduced our printing costs to some degree, but it seems like it could do so much more. Given the current constraints on uploads (only a small number total, 50K each I believe), you can't really use it to share "real" files.
For example, we're developing a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan in our ward/stake and have tons of information to communicate with ward members. If we could simply upload these resources to the site for download, it would be a huge win for everyone. There are numerous other examples where this applies. Same for photos. The ability to upload a bunch of photos from a ward activity would allow us to keep our meeting houses free of such clutter and allow everyone to share them. These types of things would make the web site more of a gathering place, driving more members to begin taking advantage of this valuable church resource. Right now it really feels like it's just the leaders using it (I'm sure this isn't far off in the general case).
I'm sure the primary worry is members posting innappropriate content, but the system already has moderation in place so it would be the responsibility of the bishop/admin.
