Since we have some folks from the Family History dept. of the church, I thought I would ask this question:

Is there any interest in CDs/DVDs containing images scanned from microfilms?

One of my ancestors came from Sobernheim, a small town in Prussia / Germany. I ordered two microfilms containing birth, marriage, and death church records. Since I am still figuring out who some of the ancestors are, I decided to use the scanner in my FH Center to scan all the pages and load them on my PC at home, and eventually burn some DVDs containing the records.

What I have done is renamed each image by type and date. For example: bapt-1773-0405.jpg is the baptism page that starts April 5, 1773. Once done, I will be able to easily look for birth, marriage, and death records by going to around the approximate time and scanning for the name I'm looking for.

I have heard that the church is planning on digitizing the microfilms, and I'm guessing they will be able to use much better equipment that I used, so I can understand if nobody is interested in them, but I would be glad to make DVDs available for anyone who is interested.
