I was only wondering if the laptops would really be given to the kids for free or if the gov'ts would resell them to their citizens. My cheese example was a personal experience where cheese was supposed to be given to the people, but it was in fact resold by the receiving gov't to the people. The gov'ts are buying the laptops, so I guess they can do whatever they want.
Why I'm wondering is because I'm curious as to whether the really poor people (who can't afford them, but who could really benefit) would be receiving the laptops or whether people with a few dollars to spare would be the ones to get them. I guess we'll see in Feb when the orders are supposed to be filled. To answer your question, I wouldn't have an aversion to using this computer. My interest is actually why I downloaded several 100 MB's to see what it was like. I'm interested enough to actually buy one...for the kids...if the price is right. Are you saying that the interface should be the same as "grown up" computers? Or are you saying that if you were traveling through Africa you wouldn't stoop down low enough to use said computer created by "Americans"? -matt disclaimer - I haven't tried out sugar, I've only seen screencasts _______________________________________________ Ldsoss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ldsoss.org/mailman/listinfo/ldsoss
