You can also get MS Virtual PC 2004 for free now too. I have had great success
with installing Ubuntu and other Linux distros on it.

My need for Linux diminished last year when I returned to OS X. I'm running
BootCamp and the VMWare Fusion beta for Windows needs. Now that I work as a BYU
Computer Support Rep, I have access to Parallels too. All this virtualization
capacity and little need...

I feel your pain with financial software. But my biggest gripe is the forced
upgrades every few years. Thanks for the list Tom. I have played with most of
them and I might still get MoneyDance.

What I would love to see is a service (or software) that can access the
itemized receipts credit card companies supposedly keep. Then I could have all
my purchases automatically categorized into my budget with precision and
minimal effort. My wife has a hard time saving receipts and downloading
transactions only gets me part of the way. I could easily spend two days a
month categorizing expenses. So I've given up being that precise.
