I've been testing MySapce and Facebook for several months now, and IMHO, Facebook is far superior, though MySpace has a lot of things that would be great to have on Facebook. While I don't use the sites all day long like some people I've heard of, I find Facebook to be a great way to stay in touch with firends. I am a member of a Singles Ward, and we are more transient than a ward full of apartments. I meet a lot of new poeple, and I make a lot of new friends, and Facebook allows us to communicate both whats going on (we've used it to get the word out about two surprise birthday parties the last couple of weeks, alone), and to stay in touch when someone moves away for a while :)
l also see it as a way to meet new poeple with common intersts (possibly even ones that could become much closer..) although I don't really use it for such, myself. On a related note, I am considering using the new Family search API to create a Facebook program that displays my family tree information (Just basic infoo) back a few generations. I'm thinking if I could create a script that exports the information as a GEDCOM, and then I use a script like PHPGEDWIEW and inteegrate it with facebook, it'd be pretty rockin...
