COBOL was part of my schooling (three classes worth) - I never
minded learning it, though without a "skeleton" of a program to
start with it was difficult to get started on a new program. I always
had to look up file handling every time (sigh).
Anybody who complains vigorously about writing COBOL should be
forced to write RPG code for a year :) I never disliked COBOL like
some others; then I wrote RPG. First language I ever disliked -
truly writeonly, and requires a COMPUTER to write code (sigh). I
can grind out passable C / Perl / Ruby / FORTH / COBOL / shell
code on a napkin - RPG? Forget it....
Sorry for the rant :-)
I always wonder about tinycob.lrp every now and then :-)
