Good point.  I've shifted towards a more "server-like" or
"full-distro-like" use of /mnt/fd0, /mnt/boot, /mnt/cdrom, et al.

Even so.

For most purposes, you should be able to just switch:

mount /mnt/fd0

...instead of...

mount /mnt

...I'm still trying out to make sure what has "/mnt" hardcoded and
needing to be fixed.  bpkg is currently the only and the main
candidate; however, it has the little documented ability to backup
anywhere the user desires (not just /mnt).
