This is just how it's setup. I've wondered about modifying this, but it was
yet another issue that came down on the side of compatability (ie don't
change if it's not necessary). I did actually think about it, though, and
you can edit your /etc/syslog.conf file to change this behavior if you want,
potentially even creating a log just for firewall stuff...
