Jack,
In depth CVS documentation is available from:
Open Source Development With CVS
http://cvsbook.red-bean.com/cvsbook.html
CVS--Concurrent Versions System v1.11
http://www.cvshome.org/docs/manual/index.html

You can place packages in the anonymous ftp area. Follow the instructions
in this FAQ:
http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=2633&group_id=13751
I'll periodically tarball them and release it in the files area (e.g.
EigerStein_2-beta_pkg_packages.tar.gz). I just created a new package
(Ladybug) in the files area for your releases.
