I need a firewall system that does what *I* need it to do.. I want to run shorewall with a 2.4.x kernel.... I want to run it on a hard disk, or even boot from a floppy to a live filesystem on CD (or even d/l the filesystem off of network), and then keep config files on floppy... I am not too fussed, I just want a solution that works.. My problem is that 99.9% of GPL firewall solutions out there are designed for the home user, and not for someone like myself that does not need masquerading. I have real IP addresses, and want to use them, whilst still blocking access from the outside world. shorewall will do it. lrp(leaf) would be a good start if there was a 2.4 kernel based version of it. any one doing this? care to share?
