I've recently heard of products that will block IDE write requests; most are hardware - some (the better ones, I'd say) actually sit between the drive and the PC. Some sites are: http://www.acard.com - Product #AEC-7720UW (sample orders $99) http://www.guidancesoftware.com/encase/fastbloc_promo.htm http://www.daten-airbag.de/textvers/index.html http://www.securesystems.com.au/SiliconDataVault.html Some of these appear to be modified BIOSes that only are active for BIOS calls, not direct IDE calls (the item from daten-airbag.de may be this way). FastBloc appears to be designed by Acard (http://www.acard.com). I don't know about availability or cost, etc; these products appear to be designed towards forensic personnel, so there may be limitations (like sales to law enforcement only?). _______________________________________________ Leaf-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-devel
