Heya. You may want to look into this project, if
you haven't already. They've built a floppy-based firewall
called WRP to support their 802.11 hotspot community
network:

I'm willing to be we could talk to them about
building on the LEAF platform instead. Lets them focus on
the whole system rather than on the firewall.
