Normally, something that specific I wouldn't like.... But I think it's perfect. Glibc is so central and so problematic with people compiling on the wrong system, et al that I think it's a good idea... Glibc: 2.1.3 Remember, this system isn't set up for dependency checking - though one could check for libc-XX.XXX.XXX before using. But that requires post-install scripts and also doesn't account for a package that uses Glibc: 2.1.3 but the system has 2.1.5 ... Then there are others... I'm finding that programs compiled against Ncurses 5 crash when run against Ncurses 4....
