FYI, the linuxrouter.org site provides 2.2.19 kernels for LRP, which aren't listed on the LEAF site. The release announcement follows: ********************************************************* From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Dave Cinege Sent: Saturday, June 23, 2001 10:46 AM To: LRPD Subject: [LRP-dev] ANNOUNCE: LRP 2.2.19 Kernel Released It can be found @ ftp://ftp.linuxrouter.org/linux-router/dists/unstable/kernel/ Now with full source and patch archives. Please provide some testing feedback. Once several people confirm no problems I will move it into the current/ tree. Dave ----- Linux Router Project kernel (v2.9.8 release) This kernel will not work with versions of LRP prior to 2.9.4. This is a one size fits most 2.2.19 kernel and modules compiled for linux router. Compiled on Debian Slink (GlibC 2.0.7) All kernels have been compressed with UPX 1.11. (http://upx.sf.net/) The kernel source build tree is distributed as '2.2.19-1-LRP.linux'. The kernel patches used are distributed as '2.2.19-1-LRP.patches'. Name Size MD5 ======================================================================== = 2.2.19-1-LRP.386.FPU 492075 e04d493697d3ce336a445f528af1deac 2.2.19-1-LRP.486 478455 f4f2a634622ea6cc6de1e30f01fd39db 2.2.19-1-LRP.PII.SMP 488003 37cb826f7963718d77ae0d9a76ca547d 2.2.19-1-LRP.config 15223 3711603c2cda20a1b3e83e91e05290a7 '.config' of all compiled kernel options 2.2.19-1-LRP.386.FPU Optimized for 386 class CPU's. Includes math emulation for systems with no FPU. 2.2.19-1-LRP.486 Optimized for 486 class CPU's. 2.2.19-1-LRP.PII.SMP Optimized for Pentium Pro/PentiumII class CPU's. Include SMP (multiple) CPU support. LRP 2.2 kernels are larger, and configured for more demanding applications. You'll might not have any luck getting 2.2 to fit on a 1.44MB floppy with any packages. To fully utilize Linux 2.2 you must install the LRP 2.2 addition which replaces several networking commands, etc. This addition is now distributed as root_22.lrp, already merged with root.lrp. Modules are located in modules/* directories. Please see the file modules/modules.dep for some important dependancy information. (If it does not exist, you are on your own.) If you see a 'not found' or 'missing symbols' message during 'insmod' you are most likely have missing loading a require dependancy module. This kernel is stock linux linus-tree except for the following: initrd-archive_3.2_2.2.8.diff: This feature is a requirment for linux router to boot. linuxrc-always_2-2.1-diff: execute /linuxrc even if root=/dev/ram0 patch. do_linuxrc() looks for /linuxrc.tty instead of /dev/tty1. This feature is a requirment for linux router to boot. tulip.c:v0.92 (pci-scan.c, pci-scan.h, and kern_compat.h) via-rhine.c: v1.08 (pci-scan.c, pci-scan.h, and kern_compat.h) Note: these drivers now depend on the pci-scan.o kernel module. linux-2.2.19-reiserfs-3.5.32-patch.bz2 Yes reiserfs support via module. Cyclades and Sangoma Wanrouter patches were attempted, but failed due to the age of Debian slink. You should be able to use the kernel soruce tree to compile them and a new kernel under more recent development environments. _______________________________________________ linux-router-devel maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.linuxrouter.org/mailman/listinfo/linux-router-devel _______________________________________________ Leaf-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-devel
