Ok, while I'm mourning, let me add another cosmetic wish. Is there still a mantainer for ppp.lrp?
If so, please add /etc/ppp/ip-up /etc/ppp/ip-down to /var/lib/lrpg/ppp.conf I'll do that, but as long as we have no common package repository, I don't want to add another ppp-package just for confusion. If I've missed something please correct me, and I'll replace ppp.lrp with that minor change. None of the requested improvements should harm anyone - they're only based on my own experience while setting up new routers and meant to improve usability.
