Hi all,

with all the talk about a Dachstein update lately and some questions
regarding the network bandwidth monitor that comes with weblet (sorry
for not speaking up at the time, I was out of town for a week) I decided
to wrap up the current version of lrpStat and put it on my homepage.

The biggest news concerning lrpStat is that it can now display cpu-usage
(in a "normal" graph), even on multi-processor machines. This has been
tested with 2 and 4 processors. Ok, not quite true, the 4 processor
machine does not really have 4 processors but rather two with
"hyperthreading" (or whatever it was called), so it looks like 4
processors to the os.

The drawback is that this _only_ works with the c-program, not with the
script (stat.sh) that's currently used with weblet.

I'm not going to announce the new version on freshmeat yet (mainly
because I don't really have much spare time right now), but since it was
mentioned that weblet would be updated with the new Dachstein release, I
thought it might be a good idea to do a "pre-release". Note, the just
released version has been running flawlessly for weeks on several
machines here, the reason it's an unofficial release at this point is
that I've screwed up with the docs too many times before to feel really
comfortable with doing a quick release...

It can be downloaded at http://lrp.hejl.de or
http://leaf.sourceforge.net/devel/hejl

If you run into any problems, please let me know.

Martin

P.S. I'm sending this via my "backup" mail account, since my provider seems
to be blacklisted with sourceforge...
