Hi Folks I have a thread open on leaf-user, but here I believe it starts being technical enough for a devel thread. Without obvious reason my bering laptop accepts DHCP messages now, NICs are Xircom and D-LINK DFE660+, but my log gets cluttered with the following:
Sep 10 13:30:01 firewall dhclient: ip length 346 disagrees with bytes received 350. Sep 10 13:30:01 firewall dhclient: accepting packet with data after udp payload. Sep 10 13:30:04 firewall dhclient: ip length 346 disagrees with bytes received 350. Sep 10 13:30:04 firewall dhclient: accepting packet with data after udp payload. Sep 10 13:30:11 firewall dhclient: ip length 346 disagrees with bytes received 350. Sep 10 13:30:11 firewall dhclient: accepting packet with data after udp payload. Sep 10 13:30:28 firewall dhclient: ip length 346 disagrees with bytes received 350. Sep 10 13:30:28 firewall dhclient: accepting packet with data after udp payload. Sep 10 13:30:32 firewall dhclient: ip length 346 disagrees with bytes received 350. Sep 10 13:30:32 firewall dhclient: accepting packet with data after udp payload. Sep 10 13:30:39 firewall dhclient: ip length 346 disagrees with bytes received 350. Sep 10 13:30:39 firewall dhclient: accepting packet with data after udp payload. Sep 10 13:30:41 firewall dhclient: ip length 343 disagrees with bytes received 347. Sep 10 13:30:41 firewall dhclient: accepting packet with data after udp payload. Sep 10 13:31:31 firewall dhclient: ip length 416 disagrees with bytes received 420. Sep 10 13:31:31 firewall dhclient: accepting packet with data after udp payload. I tried to locate the problem and downloaded the code for dhclient thinking that the version indicated in the dhclient.version file corresponded to the avctual version but could not locate the incriminating string, I then went straight to the last 2.0 version which had the above debug statement. Now the question is, does the driver actually pass a buffer which is 4 bytes longer than the lenght indicated in the ip header. Is this a general problem with pcmcia or a specific problem with my NICs.
