Thats possible. You may ask the CIPE mailinglist about that.

Hmm, it really looks like that CIPE is so picky about compiler versions.

Perhaps you should the LEAF list again about this topic. I don't know if the
uclibc Bering uses the same compiler for the kernel and applications.

I'm sorry that I couldn't help, on Dachstein, it works.... (because it uses
the same compiler).
