Erich,
You probably opened a new 'Section (part of a master document). It uses
'section' by default. The other templates are configured by default to
use 'sect?'.
In xxe: Style -> Docbook = sect? tags
Style -> Docbook (collapsible sections) = section tags
The best solution is to modify all the templates in the directory below
to use 'section'.
xxe-std-23/config/docbook/template/
Note: it's preferable to use recursive 'section' tags instead of nested
'sect?' tags.
