If I read the announcement correctly (I'm not certain that I did), there is nothing in it that identifies this application as either free software or Open Source. (The actual name is AppWeb, not "mini-Apache". The write-up says the developer "... describes AppWeb as a 'mini-Apache' in part it features compatibility with Apache configuration syntax." But "AppWeb is not based on the apache codebase, however.")


If I'm mistaken on that score ... the fact that it supports standard Apache config syntax is attractive, as is its support for an Open Source, small-footprint SSL library ... in addition to its own small size. But the free/Open Source question is the threshold question for LEAF, I think.
