1. lrpstat can't find a java 1.1 environment on my box. I removed it from the global config for now. I have 2.4.2 installed. I didn't see any 1.1 jres or sdks in the archives at java.sun.com. They only had them for windows and solaris. I'll dig down that road later.
One needs the 1.1.x JDK to be able to compile Applets compatible with the "native" Java VMs found in older browsers. Actually, one only needs the "classes.zip" file, found inside, so probably the windows jdk would work too. The 1.1.x jdk is _not_ used to compile anything (it doesn't even run on my FC 2 box, due to the NPTL changes that broke pretty much every older JDK).
Anyhow, if you can't find a JDK that works and actually want to compile lrpStat yourself, let me know, and I'll send you a 1.1.8 jdk
Is your JDK a Sun JDK?
2. hostap won't compile do to a missing linux/modversions.h file. I see one in the include/config directory. From some intial reserach I think it gets created by make dep. I tried that and I didn't get one. I noticed that the Bering-2.4.26.cfg had a config item CONFIG_MODVERSIONS said to be not set. So I set it. And forced a rebuild of buildenv.
It doesn't appear to have done the trick either.
Any pointers? :-)
Good question - I don't know what's up with that. It worked fine 6 weeks ago, I'll have to have a look over the weekend.
I'm really more of a Solaris Guy so I do struggle with Linux at times. But I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions properly.
Could you check and see if you have the linux/modversions.h file? That will help me to know which direction to head.
