ok, I think I found it (I did check after all, instead of going to bed ;-))
First of all, for some reason, kernel must be built before hostap. That is already fixed in cvs (so, you should run a "cvs update" on conf/global.cfg).
Then, the buildtool.mk needed some changes (makes me wonder if I checked in the right version 6 weeks ago..) - that is also in CVS, but since that's downloaded via viewcvs, it may take a little while until that's available online. I'll send you the relevant file via a private mail.
