Hi folks, The CVS repository was a little confusing to me at first, and i expect it will be to others, too, so i'm thinking of doing a little cleaning up in CVS. Currently we have 4 directories at the top level of CVS: STABLE versions 1.3 & 1.4 STABLE2 versions 2.0 & 2.2 Shorewall staging area 1.2 - 1.4 Shorewall2 development for 2.0 - 2.4
Here's what i propose: - Move the main development trunk back to Shorewall. - Create a number of branches from this trunk for all of the latest versions of previous stable branches (as far as this can be constructed). Currently this consists of: 2.4.0 2.2.5 2.0.16 1.4.10f 1.3.14a 1.2.13 - Perform all future development in Shorewall, creating branches for each major version, patching stable versions as necessary, and merging any important fixes back into the trunk. I'll start working on some exports that will enable me to create those branches in the main Shorewall directory, and i'll plan start saving them into CVS later this week. Please let me know if you can see any flaws in this plan. BTW, if anyone from the LRP side of things can tell me what i should be doing with Lrp* at the top of CVS, i'd be grateful. -- Paul <http://paulgear.webhop.net> -- Did you know? OpenOffice.org has built-in PDF creation. Better yet, it's compatible with Microsoft Office, and free! Find out more at <http://www.openoffice.org>.
