These boards will require build from scratch packages for it because 
they have i486 arch. So we can just leave this package 'as is' (just fix 
module path - it places file into /lib/modules that is wrong), or we can 
remove it, or we will provide a 3rd, i486 binary branch (in addition to 
generic i686 and geode-lx optimized)?

No, this means that Soekris Net45xx/Net4801 GPIO cards aren't supported 
because they drivers are available only for 2.4 kernels (about 2.6 - I 
don't sure, maybe drivers are in kernel maybe support of these cards is 
dropped at all).
