Would it be too much work to have first mediawiki and later drupal?

Yes, it took some time and force to understand :)

Mike, your help and insights are appreciated, and I guess none of us will, or 
would have complained (maybe a little bit as usual :)), if you  move on to 
based on your experience about hosting issues for LEAF.

As you can read in my other mail, I've asked Yves for help to host mediawiki 
until you install it on project web. Do you have a timeframe for this task?
