busybox/vi work well and can do the major thing we can do with vi.
e3vi work very well too (but can’t be compiled on non x86 platform).
elvis-tiny is known to have some bug (see: 
http://packages.ubuntu.com/fr/lucid/editors/elvis-tiny) : You should install 
another vi-editor (such as « vim", "elvis" or "nvi") if you want a vi editor 
that is full featured and has no bugs.
vim has full fetaures, and can be compiled on the major platform.

So the only problem is elvis-tiny that segfault sometimes according to arch, 
compilation options, etc…
