I would be happy to help with contributing some, but it may be more useful to offer cash (I do not know where you are located). Perhaps some others on this list and the main lrp list would also contribute, you could get something which works. In the UK there is at least one company who sell old (486) working laptops with faulty screens (still useable via VGA) for approx $35. I would guess there are similar companies in most places.
