Thank you, Anthony, for the link:
<http://cebu.mozcom.com/riker/iptraf/2.2/manual.html>
Here's what I found -- for the archives:
The executable should be at:
/usr/local/bin/iptraf
The configuration file requires following directory:
/var/local/iptraf
To turn ON logging requires the following directory:
/var/log/iptraf
To accomplish this on LRP-CD, I did the following:
[1] Update local.lrp so that /var/local is actually a symbolic link to
/usr/local
[2] Update ramdisk.lrp so that /etc/ramdisk/log.tgz includes
/var/log/iptraf as a symbolic link to /var/log
This scenario works and I have not seen any of the three errors
referenced above.
It remains to be seen if iptraf configuration changes will be backed up
-- hopefully, by backing up local.lrp.
What do you think?
