pn] A hardware problem was my first thought too.  FWIW, I have a similar setup; E2B 
w/v1.1, static
IP, private network controlled by W2K Adv Server.  But I let E2B serve DHCP internally 
instead of
W2K (because I have linux clients too) and I don't lose a significant number of 
packets (to and
behind my external IP).
