Yes, but it doesn't have IDE support built-in.  You can either add the IDE
modules to /boot and backup root, or use the kernel above, which has IDE
support compiled in.

If you're changing major kernel 'flavors', it would be the wise thing to do.
The Dachstein disk images use the 'small' kernel branch.  Note:  The
ethernet drivers should work fine across all kernels, but since the 'normal'
kernels have a lot more IP stuff enabled than the 'small' kernels (like QoS,
advanced routing, multicast, &c), there's a chance the ip_masq_* modules may
have changed...
