I'm using an Eigerstein system to firewall cable modem (dynamic IP) to internal net 192.168.1.0/24.
Looking through the logs I was a bit alarmed to find someone had tried to log in via SSH from the internet. From the logs it looks like whoever it was, their password thankfully failed. How do I prevent this from happening? I'd like to allow SSH login only from the internal net. In Steven Peck's sshd mini howto (http://c0wz.steinkuehler.net/dox/sshd.txt) we're instructed to add a line to hosts.allow to do this, but the section title specifically mentions E2B, and the preliminary tests I've tried, it doesn't seem to matter what I put in the hosts.allow line. Now I'm wondering if the original Eigerstein needs me to do something different. Can anyone help? thanks Julian -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.ljchurch.co.uk _______________________________________________ Leaf-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-user
