# > /var/log/messages
# > /var/log/syslog
# > /var/log/messages.0
etc should zero the log files and get you some space.  You might want to
find out what has been filing your logs recently.  Sonce the logs are
compressed after a few days, and eventually deleted, something has been
filling your logs recently.
