SETI LRP - http://lrp.gibbsoft.com/

Great SETI forum (on DSL Reports) that can help you out -
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/seti

See the FAQ and Help pages links on DSLReports. Join DLSR Team
Starfire, they are currently racing a team from AnandTech to "crunch"
the most WU! There are a number of Linux "crunchers" involved.

Considerations: If you need to reboot your router, you will lose any
current "crunch" work. I am running Dach CD 1.01, with 2 FLOPPIES. I
moved local.lrp to the second floppy, and do a full backup before
rebooting. This saves any "crunch" work, and SETI restarts on bootup.
My P233MMX takes about 2 days to "crunch" a WU, so I may work on a cron
job to backup local periodically.

To "register" with SETI, run the Client interactively, and follow the
menus. This will create your "account" with SETI. SETI will probably
not send your password to you. To get it go to
http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/account_area.html and request that it
be sent to you. You only need it to change display setting on the SETI
website anyway...

Once you have it running, you may want to know what it is doing... The
are lots of ways to do this. Since we are talking LRP, you need a
non-graphical way to get stats. You can >grep "prog="
/usr/local/setiathome/state.sah and this will give you >prog=0.3612323
This means the current WU is 36% done. Or (by loading Bash and the bc
command) you can run the setistats script and get more detailed info:

+--------------------------------------------------------------+
SETIStats4Linux 0.6a - progress information

Percent done : ........... 36.91 %
Processing speed : ....... 2.56 % per hour
Processing time : ........ 14:23
Estimated total time : ... 38:58
Estimated time left : .... 24:35
Estimated time done : .... +1 day 09:18

+--------------------------------------------------------------+

I am going to set this up in cron to run every hour or so and dump a log
that can be displayed by weblet! I hope to get the script to pull the
logs from 2 other PCs running SETI as well.

Thats all I can think of for now... If you have specific Qs when you
get started, feel free to ask!

So do you have an LRP package for seti? I was thinking about doing the
same since my router is a bit underused.
