Lynn, Absolutley no offense taken. I was simply trying to explain my frustrations. :) Your help and advice is greatly appreciated and the resources you have cited will be quite helpful. In fact you have inspired me to attempt this again sooner rather than later. I think I will start out getting my Win98 laptop to be the eth2 subnet machine. once I get it working I will know that problems are due to the RH box not the Dach box.
