Currently, on one end I am using an NT4 server (sp6) and on the other end is a w2k advanced server (sp2), without domains configured on either. As stated, standard tcp/ip stuff works fine. Yes, we can ping everything from either side. We can ftp, ssh, telnet, vnc both ways to any system. With lmhosts setup for ip/name on each of these two windoze boxen, we can ping the w2k by name (note: we do *not* have information about the _other_ side in dns nor plain hosts files). nbtstat -c shows the w2k box. However, from the w2k, we cannot ping by name and nbtstat does not know anything about the nt4 box. What do you think? > On Wed, 09 January 2002, "Michael D.
