Yep, hard to say w/o more info if these don't work.

It stops, then restarts the /etc/init.d/network boot script.
This will refresh any options and changes that are set by this scripts

The old one is the only one in existence ... 3Com quit destributing
it sometime ago. Donald Becker has one for Linux at his site, but
I haven't bothered to try it yet. I'll check on my link to see why it's
dead. Maybe Geocities decided they didn't like it ;)
