   On my system, tinydns is root wheel.  Check that.
I have the same filesize, though.

You want to fix those.  They incorrectly use +
which is used to build A records (aliases) only.
If you start the lines with an =, then you get
the A records and the PTR records.  You can prove
to yourself that it's wrong by sitting down on
a computer that resolves from tinydns and doing
an   nslookup 192.168.1.2  which will fail.
Take a look at J. Nilo's tinydns docs which
have clarified this and a few other issues.
