You do not tell us which variety of speedtouch ADSL Modem version you have. Be careful to load the USB modules if you have got the USB version. AFAIK this modem requires a special driver. Check: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/DSL-HOWTO/speedtouchusb.html You also need to know the type of connection you will need to talk to your modem. Speedtouch supports both PPPoE and PPPoA but you have to check the one which is supported by your ISP. Bering supports both types of connection.
