There are patches available for the 2.4 kernels to generate randomness based on NIC interrupts. While some people feel that an attacker could manipulate incoming packets to force the random pool into a determinable state, such arguments are completely theoretical. These patches would seem to be a good thing (tm) for use on LEAF systems where generating sufficient entropy is a problem. -Tom -- Tom Eastep \ Shorewall - iptables made easy AIM: tmeastep \ http://www.shorewall.net ICQ: #60745924 \ [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ Leaf-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/leaf-user
