There are patches available for the 2.4 kernels to generate randomness
based on NIC interrupts. While some people feel that an attacker could
manipulate incoming packets to force the random pool into a determinable
state, such arguments are completely theoretical. These patches would seem
to be a good thing (tm) for use on LEAF systems where generating
sufficient entropy is a problem.
