Do the following (assuming the package.lrp file on floppy)
mount -t msdos /dev/fd0u1680 /mnt
cd /mnt
lrpkg -i package
Then you might need to start "manually" the package script
/etc/init.d/package start

This is not Bering specific. Works also for LRP and
Dachstein
