Kim, Looking at /linuxrc, it should be possible to do. You may run into issues with line length and have to move to lrpkg.cfg (I think that's the name) to accommodate this.
Try it on a floppy based version. If it works, great. If it doesn't, you may have to make some changes to linuxrc (/var/lib/lrpkg/root.linuxrc is the actual file) to make it work.
