Just a dumb thought,
I had a similar problem, i.e. I lost outside access
could not ping nor web surf. I found that the problem
was my cable modem and not my lrp box nor the network cards in it.
If I unplugged my cable modem and let it sit for
around a minuite and simply plugged my cable modem back in
I was able to get 'outside'. I solved the problem by creating a
circuit to turn off the power to my cable modem, a script to
ping the outside, a script to trigger the circuit via the serial port.
and I have NOT had the problem since. Try turning off the modem
when you cannot get out and wait for a bit of time and plug it in and
see if that is part of the problem
