Bering does not use pcmcia kernel mode anymore but pcmcia-cs compiled outside 
the kernel. That has been the case since rc2.
The pcmcia.lrp packages are compiled out of pcmcia_cs V 3.1.33 which was the 
latest one avalailable at the time (since then 3.1.34 has been released)
