I think I found the problem. I use Bering 1.0rc2 on CD and do partial backups, including sshd to floppy. It appears that with sshd 3.2.2p1, a partial backup saves the sshd.version file. With sshd 3.2.3p1, a partial backup does not save the version file. Consequently, 3.2.2p1 sshd.version sticks around. Make sense? The bottom line is that it's a bit confusing but harmless.
